The Northern Girl Project, led by Northern Voices Ghana, aims to combat early marriages and promote girl child education in Northern Ghana. Focusing on the Sagnarigu District, the project will raise awareness about the harmful impacts of early marriage and the benefits of education, while providing mentorship, reproductive health education, and support systems for girls in junior high school. By creating a registry to track educational progress and organizing community events such as durbars and mentorship programs, the project seeks to reduce school dropouts, empower girls to pursue their dreams, and engage parents and community leaders in the fight to end child marriage. With plans for expansion across the three Northern regions, the project strives for lasting change through increased awareness, community involvement, and sustained educational support.
