Educational Outreach Project

Northern Voices Ghana’s educational outreach initiative, titled “Aren’t Our Perspectives of Education All Wrong?”, aimed to provide education, mentorship, and career guidance to senior high school students across the Northern Region of Ghana. The program reached over 5,000 students from 20 selected schools. With approval from the Northern Regional Director of Education, our team held sessions outside of regular school hours, engaging students for two to three hours per visit.
During these sessions, the team delivered visual presentations and speeches addressing key challenges students face in high school. Topics included common academic mistakes, strategies for maximizing high school education, post-graduation expectations, available scholarships and funding opportunities, as well as tips on staying motivated. In addition, prominent alumni from the participating schools were invited to share their personal journeys, offering inspiration and practical advice.
The program encouraged active participation through discussions, allowing students to ask questions and provide insights. Following the sessions, students were appointed as ambassadors for Northern Voices Ghana and matched with mentors. These mentors conducted occasional visits to support the students, offering guidance on their future plans and academic goals.
